"Ghost Juniper/Fallen Leaf" is acrylic on canvas. 16"x 20", with frame 24" x 28". The tree is directly behind the two-story 1920's chalet, the Clifton cabin or "Juniper Ledge," at the foot of Fallen Leaf Lake, which pends like a teardrop from Lake Tahoe, at 7,000 feet. I believe that it was actually once a single tree, which first split in half, then fell over onto the hillside under the weight of the winter snows, yet still lives, and puts out green shoots. Perseverence, like that needed to paint it!
